Our Services

In order to improve disability access in Ross and Cromarty we can offer the following services to anyone who has premises open to the public or who runs a service or community activity:

Access Enquiries:  We can take telephone or email enquiries.  If we do not know the answer, we will know of somewhere else that can help.

Access Surveys of your premises: We offer 2 levels of survey, one more detailed than the other.  We will provide a written report after our visit in more or less detail, according to the option you have chosen.  We will highlight the good access points of your premises, and also the aspects which need improvement.  Sources of further information will also be provided.

Commenting on Development Plans:  If you are planning changes to your premises we can discuss the disability access features with you at an early stage.

Access Awareness Sessions:  We can run tailored sessions for your staff, user groups or volunteers.  This will include a brief outline of what the law requires, the role of the Disability Access Group and how to develop an Access Improvement Plan by using examples and exercises relevant to your organisation.

From time to time we advertise and run these courses locally, open to anyone in the community.  Contact us to find out if there is one coming soon. 

We are also happy to do talks about our work for community groups.

In order to cover the costs of operating and developing our organisation, as well as paying the expenses of our volunteers, there is likely to be a charge or request for a donation in return for our assistance.  We will discuss this at the time of your request.  Our rates are very reasonable!

We are a small voluntary organisation, so we may not always be able to provide a service immediately, depending on who is available at the time.  However we will always respond to requests and discuss the best option at the time.
